Some newspapers combined monthly editions, while others had to cancel January’s print edition as December’s still hadn’t arrived to subscribers. In addition to delivery struggles, publishers also reported checks from advertisers being stuck in transit.

Local content business platform Indiegraf recently announced that it has welcomed tech investor Roger McNamee to its board. McNamee, an early Facebook investor who has been skeptical of Big Tech and social media giants for years, brings his years of experience to help Indiegraf’s mission of democratizing news and content entrepreneurship.

🤦‍♂️ OpenAI fails to deliver opt-out tool

OpenAI’s proposed Media Manager tool, which will let creators opt in or out of letting content be used for the company’s AI training data, has still not been completed. Originally announced in May 2024, the tool was planned to be released by 2025 but has failed to launch so far.
